Edit notes, tracks and instruments. Export MIDI or render your arrangement as audio.
Open a MIDI file or start a composition in creto MIDI Studio. The piano roll gives you control over note pitch, position, length and velocity, while tracks keep musical parts organized. Change instruments, edit tempo changes and preview the arrangement before downloading it. Local MIDI editing and supported exports are free. Use a MIDI file when you need editable notes in another compatible music application, an audio render for listening, or a Studio project to keep the complete editable workspace. MIDI contains musical instructions rather than a recorded waveform; recorded audio belongs in Audio Studio.
Draw and select notes in the piano roll. Change pitch, start and length with precise controls, or apply a shared adjustment to a selected group.
Adjust velocity to change the strength of a note. Edit individual values or set a value for selected notes while retaining their musical timing.
Name, reorder and duplicate tracks, choose instruments and review channel routing. Use mute and solo to hear a part in the context of your arrangement.
Set the composition tempo or edit changes in Tempo. Export editable MIDI notes, render the current mix, or choose the all-tracks audio scope when needed.
In Project, choose Import MIDI or New composition. Review an imported file before replacing the current document, and keep a Studio project copy of work you want to return to.
Select notes to change pitch, timing, length or velocity. Organize tracks, choose instruments and adjust tempo, then play back the arrangement to check your edits.
Choose MIDI file in Export for editable notes. Choose an audio export for listening; current-mix exports respect mute and solo, while all-tracks exports include muted tracks.
Local MIDI editing and supported MIDI or audio exports are free. Other creto services, including account storage and AI music generation, can have separate access or pricing rules. Opening the editor does not start a paid generation request.
Yes. Choose Project, then Import MIDI, and review the file before opening it. Use the piano roll and track controls to edit its notes and musical parts, then export a MIDI file or download a Studio project.
Yes. Select notes to edit velocity, use the instrument controls for a track's sound, and use Tempo for tempo changes. Shared MIDI channels can affect more than one track, so review the routing context before applying an instrument change.
MIDI keeps editable notes and musical events. An audio render records the chosen instrument sounds into a listening file. Keep a Studio project when you also need the full workspace state; an audio file cannot be reopened as the original editable MIDI composition.
The editor currently needs a desktop browser window at least 1100px wide. The descriptions, instructions and FAQs on this page remain available on smaller screens. Widening the same open tab lets you continue your current composition.
